Information needed for an accurate EPC quotation

The most useful EPC steel structure quotation starts with clear project information. Send architectural drawings, structural drawings, connection details if available, estimated steel tonnage, building dimensions, span, roof height, crane load requirements and the expected delivery destination.

RFQ items that affect steel structure price

Steel tonnage is only one part of the quotation. Plate thickness, connection complexity, welding volume, member length, surface treatment, packing method, shipping route and documentation requirements can all change the final cost.

For EPC contractors comparing suppliers, the better approach is to compare complete scope, not a single per-ton number. A quote that excludes coating, packing, marking or documentation can look lower but create project risk later.

For 500-ton+ EPC projects, buyers should request a clear scope list, commercial quotation, production assumptions, packing approach, document list and delivery schedule estimate. Depending on project requirements, inspection records, material certificates, welding records and coating records can be prepared during production.

These files help the EPC team communicate with the owner, engineer, site team and import coordinator. They also reduce repeated clarification after the supplier is selected.
